Stock Footage

Imagine a place where you, if you are an advertiser who sometimes produces video, could find royalty free stock footage always available to you at your fingertips.  If you don’t know what I mean by “royalty free” (and what advertiser or producer of videos doesn’t?), it means that you can reuse the footage over and over without having to pay for it each time.  You buy it once, but can reuse it as you like.

Or, if you are a cinematographer, imagine having a place where you could sell short video clips and generate ongoing revenue from video producers who would use your footage as short clips within their advertising videos, documentaries, and so forth.  You wouldn’t have to be the one out there selling those clips.  You’d let the company do that while you continued doing what you love — shooting more video.

Well, imagine no more.  That is precisely what AlwaysHD does for you.

The News Room: baseball

I’ve just signed up with The News Room, and I am excited about it. It is a place that provides great video content for websites, absolutely free to the webmaster. It is done by advertising dollars generated on the video clips.

Take a look at the. I am a baseball fan, and so this sort of clip appeals to me. The News Room is great like this — it provides interesting (and free!) information to place on a blog or website. It’s a real source of topics to post about, even when the brain isn’t cooking up much relevant, interesting, up-to-date information on its own. It’s like a blogger never has to suffer writers’ block again.

And, to make it better, it is free. Well, actually, that is only half the story. In fact, a blogger or webmaster can actually get paid to embed the video and news bits into his or her site. I didn’t quite understand all of this when I first signed up, but I get it now. What happens is this — you “mash” a bit of data (video, photos, even text) into your site, like the video below. Then, when it is clicked by your readers, that will slowly add up to payments for you. And, to sweeten the deal, if someone else “mashes” the content from your site, embedding it at his/her place, then you get a little income from that too. How great is that?

There is tons of amazing content there, so no one will be at a loss for what to include. (Unless you are just overwhelmed by all the choices.) And, it is really easy to embed. Just a click, a copy, a paste, and there it is.

It really is that easy to sign up, that easy to put great content on the site, and even that easy to let a little trickle of income get started from it all.

Video Editing

My recent attempts at putting video on my blogs and websites has led me to be more and more interested in video editing. I like what MDFilms has going on over at its site, an online portfolio for a post production studio. The work done by MDFilms is way beyond my own modest abilities, which mostly amount to meddling about with a cheap camera and software bundled with my OS. So MDFilms is very impressive to me, with the professional array of video editing, motion graphics, and audio design. For someone like me, who has interest but little ability in audio video design, a site like this is very fun to explore.

Pop in over at MDFilms. I think you will like what you see there.

You Tube

Do you You Tube? I’ve started keeping a video blog not too long ago. I haven’t posted a whole lot there yet, but here’s what I’ve done so far:
hifidel at You Tube

There’s nothing spectacular there, but I have had fun playing around with it. If you’ve got a You Tube site, drop me a comment below and I’ll stop in to visit you.

Here’sone of my earlier videos:
