The Three Penny Review

If you are looking for a well-paid spot to publish, The Three Penny Review provides one. They look for stories, memoirs, poems, and reviews of events and books. You can find their guidelines here. Pay ranges from $200 (poems) to $400 (stories and articles).

The quality of the review is very good, as I have noted on my reading list. This is a real quality spot to to see your name in print, so only send your best stuff.

Update on Publications

I have recently had some work accepted by various publications. I’ve listed some of those here, but I think there might be two of my poems I’ve failed to link to. These are the two most recent, and they appear in The Genesis Project, where my poem “Cursed” also appears.

Under Foot and In Eternity’s Eye are my two most recently published poems. They are in the collection linked. The Genesis Project is strictly online now, but may appear in a print volume at a later date.

Shadow Poetry Chapbook Competition

Shadow Poetry’s biannual Chapbook Competition is closing in June. I know that seems like a while away still, but three months to polish up on your submission will be gone more quickly than you realize.

If you’ve got a collection of poetry you’d like to submit, see the linked page for guidelines. This is a great place to see your first collection in print.

A Few Links

Here are a few links to some sites where I’ve recently had some work published:

My poem Cursed appeared just this past weekend on the website for The Genesis Project, put out by Utmost Christian Writers.

I’ve got a review of the poetry of Yong Shu Hoong at the ezine The Bakery of the Poets. I’ve got a couple of poems due to appear there anytime as well.

Some years back, I had this story appear in an online anthology at Tower of Babel’s website. It has since also appeared at my blog.

I’ve also recently had some work (3 poems) appear in Writing Edge Magazine. I’ll have another one in the next issue, the winner of a small poetry contest there.

I’ve had other work appear here in there in print volumes for which I cannot find a website, but this will probably do for now.

Writing Edge

This is another introduction to a magazine, this one for writers. Based in Australia, Writing Edge Magazine has poetry, articles, interviews, and all sorts of snippets of interest to writers. I just received my copy of the Spring 2006 issue, and enjoyed reading it very much. (And no, that isn’t a misprint. Being in Australia, the seasons aren’t the same as what you see in magazines from the US and UK.)

I am pleased that some of my poetry has appeared in this issue of Writing Edge, and another is due out in the Summer 2006 issue. I feel it an honour that my work is appearing in a magazine like this one. I will be watching for the upcoming Summer issue, and am expecting good things after having read the Spring edition.
