Here's how to get started, if you are interested:

Three Strikes, but Not Out

After having posted last week about receving three rejections in one day, I was especially pleased to receive word yesterday that another of my poems has been accepted for publication in Scifaikuest, a top-notch magazine specifically focused on scifaiku and related genres (science fiction minimalist poetry).

I was all the more relieved because the editor mentioned in her email that I had overlooked the details listed in the magazine's submission guidelines (ironic, in light of my comment earlier in the week at Terry's blog post).  I am glad Teri (the editor) recognized my name and opened the email anyway.

My poem, a haibun entitled "Abandoned World," will appear in Scifaikuest in August.

Do you write poetry for kids?

Do you write poems for kids?  If so, I've found some good links to markets that publish poems for kids.  I don't have much that is targeted at kids, but this site has some good resources that I thought it would be worth passing along.

Good luck!

Three Rejections this Week

Sigh....
Three rejections this week.  Two of 'em on the same day.

But still, I feel like they were all good responses.  All three invited me to send more submissions, two saying that what I sent just didn't fit the needs at this moment.  The other said that they liked several of the poems I submitted, but would like to see some tightening of the language.  Not all bad, I guess.

I need to get the new lot sent out.
How are your submissions going?
