Science Fiction Poetry

I've been dabbling mostly with science fiction poetry lately. I have also joined the Science Fiction Poetry Association, and found a number of good leads on publications that would suit this type of writing. If you write sci-fi poetry, you might want to have a look, or maybe even join SFPA. Enjoy!

Resources for Poets

I've started a new page at my main website for poets.  It lists a lot of resources for poets who are wanting to see their work in print, much like what this blog does.  It is a more permanent list, and one that will be expanding as time goes on.  Check it out if you are looking for some markets for your poetry.  There are lots of links and good leads there, and it will be updated too.

a writing challenge

At a site where I used to blog, we used to issue writing challenges on a fairly regular basis. Pinhole has revived the practice on his blog. Since it is harder to get the word around on the great wide blogosphere, I thought I'd put a plug in at several of my blogs, and see if we might drum up a little more participation.

Poetry Contest Database

I know I have pointed to this from time to time, but I thought it a good idea to 
remind readers here of the firstwriter.com Database of poetry competitions.  
It's a great spot for finding places to enter your poetry to competitions, and 
hopefully get a little recognition for the work you've done.

I'll be adding a link to my sidebar, so that there will be a constant reminder.  
It is important to have several good resources, if you want to see your poetry in print, 
and this is a very extensive database.

Book Club Discussions on a Blog

Some time back, at a site where I used to blog, we had a group of bloggers who started a book club discussion.  We'd choose a book to read together, and then one blogger would host the discussion at his/her place.  The site has fallen apart, but we are still trying to keep the discussions going on.  

I'm hosting the next discussion.  If you'd like to stop in and read with us, I am opening it up for everyone to vote on which book seems most suitable.  You can pop in here to vote.  I'll look forward to having more people join us and add to the discussion.
